Putting Movies and Sounds Together in QuickTime Pro

I captured a 20 second sound clip from a music CD, opened it in Sound Companion,

trimmed it to 9 seconds (the length of the video) and faded  out the ending.

Click  on the the controller bar to hear the music.

  1. Open the music movie.

  2.
    1. Select All (Edit->Select All) or select the desired part of the sound by dragging the diamond across the scrubber bar with the Shift key pressed.

    2.

      1. Note that the selected area is gray.

    3. Edit-> Copy

  3. Open the movie file.

  4.
    1. Position the diamond in the scrubber bar where the sound should be added.

    2. Hold down the Option key and Edit->Add
    3. With the Option key down, "Add" replaces "Paste" in the Edit Menu. It adds the new file as a separate track rather than as part of the same track.

      1. Compare the above menu to the normal Edit Menu.

      2.

    4. You can Add as many tracks as there is memory.

    5.

I also added a voice track by repeating the process with a sound I recorded and edited in Sound Companion.
Click on the movie controller to play it and hear both voice and music together.
