From a music CD with QuickTime Pro

Insert a music CD into the computer's CD-ROM drive.

Open QuickTime Pro

Go to File->Open Movie

An "Open File" dialog box opens.

Navigate to the Audio CD.

Select a music track.

Click on the Convert button

Click on the Options button to choose the settings for the new sound
movie.

These are the settings for CD quality sound.

For multimedia programs and QuickTime movies the sound file can be made
smaller by adjusting the settings.

In the window above, I chose to capture 20 seconds of the sound in 8
bit , 22.050kHz, mono.

When the Play button is clicked the Slider will move from left to right
and indicate the time in the sound that is being played.

When you click OK, rename the file

Saving isn't allowed on the CD so navigate to a spot on the hard drive
and click on Save.

The new music file will appear on the desktop. Click on the controller
to hear the music.
